Over the course of four days you will enjoy unique opportunities to capture spectacular images of Raptors, Owls and numerous more species in one of Europe’s top wildlife national parks. Guidance and tuition on how to get the best from each situation will be available throughout the workshop from our professional photographer Ben Hall so we’ll ensure you return home with images you’ll be proud of.

Hides

The hides will be entered before daylight around 06:30 and can only be left after dusk approx. 17:00. The eagles are very shy and once disturbed they can abandon the feeding station for days. Smoking is strictly forbidden in the hide because of the heating system. The use of the curtain in the morning is useful when direct sunlight hits the window.

The hides are 260 cm wide, 250 cm long and 125 cm high. The size of the photo-through window is 210 cm by 40 cm. Most of the hide is low in the ground with only 50cm emerging above the surface so it blends perfectly into the flat treeless landscape.

The hide has three chairs with back support, Curtains, Large mattress, Gas operated heating system to ensure a temperature of 15°C when it is -10°C outside. Shelves & ventilators to ensure the windows don’t steam up and a portable toilet.

Recommended equipment

The distance of the eagles from the hide will be regulated by placing out fish. The eagles are shy but they usually come within 10-25 metres of the hides. This photography tour offers you very diverse photographing opportunities so we would recommend that you bring along lenses from wide angle & 70-200mm for close up shots and 300mm- 500mm with extenders for the birds in flight.
